Welcome!
Welcome to the website of the Central Carolina Skating Club, Inc. (CCSC), a member club (#497) of U.S. Figure Skating. CCSC was established in July 1995. Its headquarters is at the Triangle SportsPlex in Hillsborough, NC. CCSC is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization because of our support of the U.S. Figure Skating mission of "providing programs to encourage participation and achievement in the sport of figure skating."

The 2008 Central Carolina Synchro Classic - Synchronized Team Skating Competition is set to take place on Sunday, November 2, 2008, at the Triangle SportsPlex in Hillsborough, NC. The 2008 Synchro Classic will be offering computerized ISU judging system (IJS) for open junior, collegiate, adult, intermediate, novice, junior and senior events. For all other events, the 6.0 system will be used. Practice ice may begin on Saturday, November 1st, if needed. Visit these links for more information:

The 2008 Central Carolina Synchro Classic is a proud member of the 2008-2009 Eastern Synchronized Skating Challenge Series.
The 2008 Central Carolina Fall Basic Skills Competition will take place on Saturday, November 15th, at the Triangle SportsPlex in Hillsborough, NC. The deadline for the application is Monday, October 27th. It will offer:
- Basic Skills Snowplow Sam through Basic
- Freeskate 1 through Freeskate 6
- Tots through Preliminary
- Adult Events - Basic, Freeskate, Pre-Bronze, and Bronze
The events will include Freestyle, Compulsory Moves, Jumps, and Showcase. Visit these links for more information:
Fall General Membership Meeting
The 2008 Fall General Membership Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, October 25th, at the Triangle SportsPlex in Hillsborough. A free lunch will be served to all that attend. We will begin serving the free lunch at 12:45pm and the business portion of the meeting will begin shortly after that. We hope to see many of you there!
Nominations for the Fran Jesel Award
Deadline is Saturday, October 11th
It's that time of year to send in your nomination for the Fran Jesel award. This award goes to the skater who is actively competing in either qualifying or non-qualifying events, is an example of good sportsmanship as well as a person that has contributed to their fellow skaters.
Nominations, which should include an explanation of why the skater qualifies for this award, need to be submitted by Saturday, October 11th, to Kevin Elvin at suzandkev@aol.com.
This award is in the name and honor of a judge, Frances Jesel, who has contributed a great deal to the sport of figure skating through giving of her time, knowledge, and energy. She has shown a love of the sport that is rare. She goes out of her way to help all skaters. Previous recipients have been:

CCSC Apparel Online
CCSC has partnered with In-Line Apparel to offer quality CCSC apparel. The items offered in the CCSC section of In-Line Apparel's web store are available year round. There are fleece jackets and vests, sweatshirts, shirts, hats, pants, and bags. You can put your name on certain items.
Shelley Faucette has examples of the jackets for members to try on for sizing. Email Shelley with requests and she'll bring the jackets to the next Club Ice or other CCSC event.
For delivery, choose the CCSC shipping option for free shipping via regular U.S. Mail, or choose Carolina Acceleration, a sports training center located in Greensboro, NC, for pick up in Greensboro, or choose Priority Mail for faster delivery. Check out the CCSC Apparel store at In-Line Apparel.
